I realised, after some comments, that I had a rather Pratchett-esque way of not breaking fics into chapters; evidently, this makes reading tedious for some people. I personally never read according to chapters, but if it affects the fic, I'm willing to try chapter style.

This ought to encourage fanfiction, but I'm so sad today that I don't feel like writing D:
Truffle, my Chinese Black Moor, died of asphyxia. This makes no sense, because I have a good amount of elodia in the water, which is a very good oxygenator. I'm confused, and sad, and I just feel bad because of it. I pride myself on a very low mortality rate, and an even lower disease rate, so this is a blow to my pride, I guess. And Yuri-chan misses Truffle. They spawned together last season, and I had black telescope eye fry that sold really well, because they were *technically* a telescope/Moor mix, but since they were *not* Moors (Yuri's a female white telescope) it made them a more rare colour of telescope, which means that collectors and showers would pay more for them. So yeah, overall, this really sucks. And Truffle was a Chinese import, a better breed, so it'll be difficult and expensive to replace him. Plus, he was so big, it was hard to flush him down the toilet.
I want to write, but my heart's not in it, so I guess today's just a rainy, washed out Thursday.
I need to get back to work. I miss the koi.

Turns out Yuuri-chan's a girl, and I caught Ken-chan hitting against her yesterday, so this crack!fic just naturally developed. And yes, I know it's full of shit, but that's what makes it funny. Everyone needs a little crack!
Edit: Geez, the more I read this, the more fond I become of it. This is the first time I've ever actually written fish sex as an allegory and not as an instructional guide, and Yuu-chan and Ken-chan keep swimming over and staring at me accusingly.
Edit2: And the most ironic bit? Ken-chan's a girl. I verified her sex myself when she was a few months old. Take that, people who say there's no homosexuality in nature.

Here is just a little ficlet I wrote because there are so few Murata/Yuuri fics that aren't incredibly angsty. Really, there aren't many MuraYuu fics period, so it never hurts to contribute! So, at poor Conrad's expense, I wrote shameless smut for my pretties. Obviously, Murata/Yuuri is my favourite pairing, followed closely by Conrad/Yuuri. Enjoy!

It snowed. Today and yesterday. Only small showers that came in bursts, dropping soft, light flakes that melted the second they touched the grass, but still it was snow. The first snow of the season, it had everyone outside; the kids were wild, running up and down the street and trying to catch snow on their tongues. We even had one group of elementary kids who asked if they could scoop the fine layer of flakes off my car so they could make a snowball (it turned out to be a marble-sized snowball)^___^*
I really don't think there's anything more magical than snow. It may loose its wonder for those who live in really snowy areas, but when you live in the part of the world where it's a rare and much-anticipated occurrence, it's something special. I can't imagine going my entire life and not seeing snow (which makes me glad that, while the South certainly borders on a tropical climate in the summer, it's still considered moderate).
So yeah, that's why I'm gushing about it. It makes me warmer inside than any amount of hot chocolate :D

I don't usually have a thing for celebrities (okay, Jorja Fox is the exception), but I'm totally into Mariska Hargitay right now. She's great. And her character in Law and Order: SVU reminds me entirely too much of myself.
I seem to have made another fandom jump again. Currently Shoujo Kakumei Utena rules the roost.
Is it possible to get addicted to eBay? Because in my search for interesting Utena shtuff, I opened an account and subsequently bought the CUTEST RING I'VE EVER SEEN. It's a Duelist's ring, rose crest and all. I never thought they actually made that type of thing. I found some other licensed ones later that were way out of my price range, but I got this one with my Christmas money, from a cosplay prop maker in Australia ^^ She said it'd take up to two weeks for it to get here, minus Customs, and the suspense is killing me. There will be picspam when it arrives :D MWHAHAHHAAH ph34r m3h~
Adding to the complete irresponsibility this week has fostered, I spent this evening with the guys at an oyster bar. They knew I'd been feeling kind of down lately, so they dragged me over there and challenged me to an oyster eating contest. Thing is, while I've always eaten fried oysters, I haven't touched the raw ones because they resemble in taste and texture a large fat slug. Stupidly though, I took them up on the challenge (and came in second place, w00t).
During the course of this not at all sophomoric activity, Drew mentioned that oysters are supposed to be aphrodisiacs. I still fail to see how blobs of slimy grey muscle tissue are supposed to make someone feel sexy.
Well, I've done a Utena collage, so it's only a matter of time before there's ficcage. However, thanks to the mental image of Hakkai slapping Sanzo (which made my whole day), I'm starting to feel the Saiyuki bug again...

I just finished reading Thud! It was, as usual, excellent. And, incidentally, the first Pratchett book that's ever caused me to mist up a bit. Geh, I'm so full of *squee* right now! No time for a full review, but here are my highlights:

There are more, and that list wasn't fleshed out very thoroughly, but I'm too tired to do a better job at this moment. I'm very glad that I've not read all the Discworld books yet, because I have to have a follow up to this one...I might, however, need to wait to begin another until after exams are over.
